Our store
We are passionate about knowing where our food comes from, and in particular feeling confident that our meat was raised ethically and the way nature intended it. To us, this means grass-fed beef and pasture raised poultry. We find satisfaction in knowing the story behind our meals, and if you’re here, we know you do too. That’s why we have curated our online shop with beef cuts sourced either straight from Caluga farm, or from select farms we trust.
Straight from the farm to your door. You can find our beef boxes here.

Our Story
We are third generation farmers on Caluga Farm. When Heath's parents Amanda and Graham took over the farm they began a farming journey that led them away from conventional farming. They looked back in time to the way farming was done before chemical and pharmaceutical tools were used, as they are in conventional farming today.
They didn't have to look too far, stories from Graham's grandfather's childhood in the Shetland islands in Scotland spoke of a way of farming that was in sync with nature. They have spent the last 25 years searching for knowledge about how our ancestor's farmed. At their house there is a bookshelf full of books about traditional farming. They have adapted the principals of traditional farming while using the technologies of modern farming (like temporary electric fencing and water pipes), honing their skills of regenerative farming.
Looking Ahead...
At Caluga Farm we are taking regenerative farming into the future. Through raising our livestock in a way that mimics nature, we are building biodiversity and turning our grassland into a carbon pump; transporting carbon from the air to the soil where it feeds soil biology, which in turn feeds the plants.
We follow the pattern laid out for us in nature by moving our cattle on a daily basis to fresh pasture, leaving behind their contribution which is a major part of our fertilisation program. The cows spend only 1 day every 4-6 weeks in any particular area on the farm. The cows 'contribution' supercharges the soil biology in that area. Soil biology makes nutrition from the soil available to the plants, and as the pasture grows back through the process of photosynthesis carbon is being pumped into the soil. So as we create healthier pastures, and more leaf area, we get a bigger carbon pump.
